March-April 2000
15-16 months old

During March and April 2000 I celebrated 2 big holidays - Purim and Passover!

You all remember that in Purim last year I was a teddy bear. In case your memory needs a little refreshing, you can see how pretty (and tiny!) I was if you click here.
This year I was a ballerina, And I went with Etti (who takes care of me in the morning) to show off my pretty costume and see what the other kids are wearing.

In April Mom and Dad and I went on a trip to Ramat Ha'Golan, in the north. We saw pretty spring flowers and all sorts of other springy things. I like spring! it's fun, and you get to see all sorts of curious little insects and step on them :)

Then we had the Seder night - the big event of Passover. Like all jewish holidays, The seder night consists mainly of a big meal. We also read the Hagada, which is a long book that tells about how some Israeli people left egypt many many years ago. I tried to keep up with the reading, but mainly enjoyed the songs and the nice pictures of the big triangles with the little people next to them. We had the seder night at Grandma Gita's house this year, with Grandma, aunt Ayelet, mom, dad, me, and baby Hila in the belly.
Especially for the Seder I learned to sing "Ma nishtana", which is a song tradittionaly sung by the youngest child in the family during the Seder night and consists of 4 questions that help explain why this night is different from all other nights. I can't sing the whole songs yet, but I learned to complete the ends of the 2 main lines of the song.

Things I learned to say:
I learned to say a lot this month, and I repeat almost everything people say to me. I say new words faster then aunt Ayelet can keep track, so here are the highlights:
Abar (short for Achbar, mouse. I learned this from my animal puzzle and from watching aunt Ayelet's hamsters)
Tir'i or Tir'e (look)
Bo (come)
Tinok (baby. I'm preparing for Hila's arrival)
wawawa (the sound the baby will make when she arrives)
Soos (horse)
Dom (short for Adom - red)
Wow (when I'm impressed by something)
Ish (man)
Mulder and Scully (because aunt Ayelet couldn't stand hearing me refer to them as "people")
Po (from the Teletubbies)
Pooh and I-ya (Pooh and Eeyore)
Toot (strawberry)

I also know the sounds of many many animals, and I learn new words every day!!
I already understand everything, even things I can't yet say. Just try and ask me if I think it's time to go to sleep, and you'll hear me say No!

So, here are this months' pictures. There's lots of them this month, but it's worth the wait..

Ballerina-Orr! That's me in Purim, showing off my costume.

Having a conversation with grandpa

Oh look grandpa! someone's taking pictures!

Yeah, ignore the picture taking person and give me a hug..

Let's play Kookoo! you cover your face with the towel,
and I'll guess where you went!

Close up of me from the previous picture

So let me explain to you about Quantum physics..

Or if you're not into anything serious,
we could always play with leaves!
